| THE SWEET SIXTEEN S16: Scariest Monster of All Time |
![]() Some really good ones in this selection - and a few I've never seen too. I've always wanted to get Nosferatu but haven't gotten to it, and now I want to add Dr. Phibes to that list. The trailer is definitely very interesting. Then there's The Devil's Rain...this has bad written all over it...Ernest Borgnine as the devil, Eddie Albert, Anton LaVey - the REAL high priest of the church of Satan...and WILLIAM SHATNER. Add background music that sounds like it comes from the car chase scene of Mitchell and you have a real winner there. In the end I disagree with the final winner, but today has been a big day of controversy on the DGS with the Halfwits mishap in the 5 o'clock hour and an agitated Crane "The Awesome" Durham calling in during the 4 o'clock hour to respond to Terbrock and Colombo's paddleboat race challenge. It should be an interesting DGS when everyone gets back from the holiday break. |

| BATTLE OF THE HALFWITS Uh Oh. Controversy |
The Halfwits score update will be delayed due to a major flag on the field. The overload of boofs in this game (25 total of 50 questions) overloaded the math skills of on Dave Glover, and there may be an overturn of the final results. We have top people working on it. Top people. |

Just a quick poll to see what everyone uses - I use a larger monitor on Firefox which renders the site beautifully. IE does a crap job as do smaller monitors so over the 4th weekend I'm going to fix all the probs I've noticed in IE (sorry to you all) before going back into content mode. So please let me know what you have. Here's the second poll. If you're not sure what your monitor is set to, you can look it up on your computer's Control Panel - Display. Or you can click here to find out. | |||||||||||||

| PARANORMAL TUESDAYS Dr. Lynch Repeats Unfounded North Pole Claim |
Dr. Lynch picked up on a debunked story that the north pole was going to be ice free this summer, for the first time in recorded history. So where was he wrong? First, one could swim at the North Pole in 1987. In the 1930's it was also believed to be ice free but the ice sheet data only starts in the 1950's. In any case, this is only a prediction anyway - it hasn't happened yet - and we know how well predictions have been lately (i.e. all those hurricanes). Take a look at the chart here, it shows in dashed green last year's ice cover during the spring and summer, and then the 1979-2000 average in solid grey. The YTD number is in light blue. Notice it, save for a few days in June, stays between 2007 and the historical line - meaning if trends continue there will be more ice in the arctic than last year, not less. So what could be causing an ice shortage up there anyway if it were true? Well in 1999, active volcanoes were found at the floor of the arctic - and what are they doing? Heating up the sea. A final question to ask the GW alarmists - if this were happening doesn't that mean Manhattan and Miami would now be 10-20 feet underwater? Sorry Dr. Lynch, on this prediction you will most undoubtedly be wrong - next time stick to your 5 to 10 year-away predictions so you can play it safe. |

Behold the song that drove him to drinking. Of course he was joking, but I can feel his pain. I mean the Bay City Rollers in general. Man. If you're so embolddened, click here for more deep hurting. I'm so glad I don't remember the 70's. ![]() |

| ST. LOUIS CLASSIC ROCK visit StLouisClassicRock.com From 2nd Beatle We Proceed To 7th Python... |
Last week saw the premiere of The Seventh Python in a few select locations. This is a biopic about Neil Innes, the um seventh Python, as in Monty Python. The film explores his days in the Bonzo Dog Band, then Python, then The Rutles and beyond. For the Python fans you may know him best as Robin's minstrel in Holy Grail, but he also co-wrote numerous songs for the group. ![]() All reviews I've seen look pretty dern good so I'm hoping the film will open in the area. In the meantime, enjoy some Neil Innes YouTubes. BTW, doesn't the movie poster look semi-familiar?

| ST. LOUIS CLASSIC ROCK visit StLouisClassicRock.com The Last Tour of Paul McCartney? What Songs Would You Like Him To Play? |
Thanks to Deaconblues for pointing this out - shows how easy it is to get behind in news when I get busy. Anyway, the rumor is that Paul McCartney is preparing for what will be his last world tour in 2009 or 2010 before he semi-retires and spends more time with his daughter. Anyway, here is a list of songs I'd like him to play that I don't *think* he's ever done before live: - Beatles (including a few John songs*): "Another Girl", "She's A Woman", "Nowhere Man"*, "Lovely Rita", "Your Mother Should Know", "Martha My Dear", "Why Don't We Do It In The Road", "Revolution"*, "Cry Baby Cry"*, "Hey Bulldog", "Oh! Darling", "I Want You (She's So Heavy)"*, "Because"*, "Across the Universe"* and maybe a Love tracks like "Tomorrow Never Knows/Within You Without You" - 70s/Wings: "Teddy Boy", "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey/Smile Away", "Eat at Home", "Little Lamb Dragonfly", "Mrs. Vandebilt" (current #1 at StLouisClassicRock.com btw) "Nineteen Hundred and Eight Five", "Daytime Nighttime Suffering" (current #4 at StLouisClassicRock.com btw) - 80s - present/solo: anything off McCartney II besides "Coming Up" would be interesting, "Take it Away", "Ballroom Dancing", "No More Lonely Nights", almost anything off Press to Play would also be a nice surprise, "Beautiful Night" Also, I'd like to see him do "Silly Love Songs", "Beware My Love" and "Goodnight Tonight" again - songs he hasn't done live since the 70s, and if he were to do a song to tribute each of his bandmates: "Instant Karma!", "Beware of Darkness" and "It Don't Come Easy". I also note he's never done "Ob-la-di Ob-la-da" live before. That may be an audience rouser but I don't care to hear it. |
